Douglas M. Dumler graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1973 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. While at the University, he played football for the Cornhuskers, and was elected co-Captain as a senior. Mr. Dumler played football professionally for three years with the New England Patriots and two years with the Minnesota Vikings. His Viking teammates elected him as co-player representative to the National Football League Players Association.
During his NFL career, Mr. Dumler attended law school at Suffolk Law School, in Boston, Massachusetts, and at William Mitchell School of Law, in St. Paul, Minnesota, graduating from Suffolk in 1979. Since that time, Mr. Dumler has been in private practice in Sharon, Massachusetts for ten years and in Fort Collins, Colorado, since 1990. He is a member of the Colorado and Larimer County Bar Associations.
Areas of practice include estate planning and probate administration, workers compensation for professional athletes, real estate including Section 1031 exchanges, renewable energy, and general business and transaction law. Mr. Dumler is a charter member of the panel of workers compensation attorneys established by the National Football League Players Association, and a member of the Regional Advisory Board to the Northern Colorado Community Foundation.
